Accessing applications on the Medicare mainframe systems for Direct Data Entry (DDE) requires a TN3270 ("green-screen") terminal emulation connection. The AHDS XHub system provides access to these resources.
Host Name: dde.cms.ahdsxhub.com
For Customers with installations in AWS that are connected to AHDS XHub via a peering connection use:
Host Name: aws1-dde.cms.ahdsxhub.com
TLS must be enabled in your software
Connection Port: 23045
Download zScope Express 3270 installer.
Once the installer is downloaded, run the installer file. You should then see a warning dialog. Click "Yes" to continue the installation process.
Click "Next" to continue the installation process.
To proceed, click "I Agree" for zScope End User License Agreement and then "Next".
Setup Type to select the set of components that will be installed. Choose Typical.
Click "Next" to continue the installation process.
Installation destination. Make changes if you require a custom installation, otherwise leave as the default.
Click "Next" to continue the installation process.
Program Group Setup. Make changes if you require a custom installation, otherwise leave as the default.
Click "Next" to continue the installation process.

Click "Next" to continue the installation process.
Installation Progressing.
Installation Complete. Leave the "Run" checkbox enabled to have the application launch.
Click "Finish" to complete the installation process and launch zScope Express
Upon launch of the zScope application, a dialog will appear asking to choose an evaluation period or enter in your license Key.
If you are purchasing a license from AHDS, click "Evaluation", we will send you a license key when we bill you for your first invoice.
The application will request permission to setup your computer so that any tn3270:// URLS will be sent to zScope.
We recommend clicking "Yes".
The application will complete startup and should present this window
Return to the main zScope configuration support page to create a new connection.
Download zScope Express 3270 installer.
After installation you should see the window above. Click on "here" to start the new connection setup wizard.
Click "Next" to continue the new connection setup wizard.
Select the Screen Type. Choose Mod 2 - 24x80.
Click "Next" to continue the new connection setup wizard.
Enter in host address: hpedc.xhub.ahds.com
Deselect "Default Port" and enter 23045 into the Port field.
Click "Next" to continue the new connection setup wizard.
Enter in a descriptive name for this connection or leave the default.
Deselect the "Connect to Host" checkbox as the connection is not quite ready.
Click "Finish" to continue the new connection setup wizard.
The new connection has been added, and you should be back to the original window. However, before connecting, we need to make a few tweaks.
Click the Connection Settings icon on the right. (The circled item)
Click on the "Host" tab. On this screen select two checkboxes: Has Backup and SSL
Ensure that the Port field is set to 23045 before moving on as the application may try to change it to 992 when clicking the SSL checkbox.
Click the "Apply" button.
Click on the "Backup" tab.
Enter cdsedc.xhub.ahds.com into the Address field and 23045 into the Port field, then click "Add".
Click the "Apply" button.
Click on the "SSL" tab.
Select TLS 1.0 under SSL Method.
No other changes are necessary on this screen.
Click the "Finish" button.
Back on the Main window, click on hpedc.xhub.ahds.com which will initiate a connection.
If the connection is successful, you should see the screen above.
Proceed into your application(s) by selecting which datacenter from the list at the bottom. You should already have a username/password to allow you access into the application(s) you are authorized for.
